Bethany is a city in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 6,327 at the 2010 census. It is located at the intersection of State Route 48 and State Route 32.
The township of Bethany was organized on March 25, 1840 from portions of Harrison Township by order of Judge Jesse Carter (Bethany’s first settler). The township originally contained about 1/2 square mile and extended north to Springfield Pike (now known as Montgomery Road), east to Mill Creek (now known as Oak Brook Road), south to present day Bethany-Saybrook Road and west to what is now called Vandalia-Salem Road.
